With a little searching, I = came up with 67 species, nothing too out of the ordinary, although = Yellow-bellied and Least Flycatchers along the Docker Rd. were not = present in earlier visits and I also noted a soaring imm. Broad-winged = Hawk with a Sharpie that may have been the one Ann Doull had seen last = week. I noted 12 species of shorebird and 8 species of warbler. A Boreal = Chickadee was seen along a trail on the NW end of the island ( not seen = on most visits). An imm. Great Cormorant has been along the Strait side = of the causeway last 2 visits.=20 Shorebirds seen are noted below but view complete checklist online at = http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=3DS15024933=20 Although I was looking for birds, I could not help to note there were = quite a few butterflies about despite a slow period of looking for these = Leps the last 2 weeks.=20 There were hundreds of Clouded Sulphurs, dozens of Cabbage Whites, maybe = a dozen Northern Crescents and Common Wood Nymphs and a single Common = Ringlet .=20 Along a power line on the Lamont Rd., I noted 4 Viceroy, ~ 6 Clouded = Sulphurs, a single Ringlet and a worn large Fritillary. Cabbage Whites = were abundant along this road.=20 cheers Ken Big I. shorebirds Aug 26 Black-bellied Plover 14 Semipalmated Plover 66 Greater Yellowlegs 8 Willet 7 Lesser Yellowlegs 76 Whimbrel 5 Ruddy Turnstone 1 Red Knot 2 Sanderling 1 Semipalmated Sandpiper 122 Least Sandpiper 33 peep sp. 7 Short-billed Dowitcher 71 ------=_NextPart_000_00A3_01CEA311.06078250 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META name=3DGENERATOR content=3D"MSHTML 8.00.6001.23515"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial>Ken McKenna<BR>Box 218 Stellarton = NS<BR>B0K=20 1S0<BR>902 752-7644<BR></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial>Hi all </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial>Yesterday morning, Aug 26, I birded Big = I.
