I can certainly state = I never saw any shorebird like that!! Angus =20 Date: Fri=2C 23 Aug 2013 08:24:23 -0300 Subject: [NatureNS] Exciting Shorebirds From: dendroica.caerulescens@gmail.com To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca=3B Julie.Paquet@ec.gc.ca=3B dhamilto@mta.ca The fun never stops. On Wednesday I spent the high tide at Hortonville. The= re was one American Golden Plover male that was not far from breeding pluma= ge=2C basically showing worn golden edges on the back feathers and some whi= te (not all) showing in the vent area. I didn't photograph it.=20 There was an exceptionally pale Short-billed Dowitcher that I can only desc= ribe as gorgeous. You'll have to view it to believe it. Our local experts a= ll agree it lacks pigment=2C for whatever reason. Three different views are= shown. Lastly=2C I photographed one of Julie Paquet / Diana Hamilton's Semipalmate= d Sandpipers that was flagged AND given a nanotag on August 13th in Avonpor= t. You can clearly see the nanotag antenna in the first photo=2C at the rea= r=2C and the flag is readable as KYU. I think I can say Julie was pretty ex= cited about this photo. I added a fourth photo to the Bank Swallow story to eliminate any question = as to its ID. http://tinyurl.com/l3mwwk6 Rick Whitman = --_f4ab11d8-7151-4131-8fdc-10bbc72f5d2a_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html> <head> <style><!-- .hmmessage P { margin:0px=3B padding:0px } body.hmmessage { font-size: 12pt=3B font-family:Calibri } --></style></head> <body class=3D'hmmessage'><div dir=3D'ltr'>As you say=2C Rick=2C the S/B Do= witcher is gorgeous.
