W= e would scoop up what, in retrospect, was probably Bald-faced Hornets- we ca= lled them Clowns, take them to the picnic table and hold spoons of sugar wat= er up to their faces. They would keep sucking this up until we put them back= and got another. They were surprisingly docile, almost zombie-like (drunk o= n nectar?) and never aggressive.=20 Maybe this was another insect altogether?
