The metallic wings that showed up in this picture (http://www.flickr.com/photos/92981528@N08/9471325157/in/set-72157635064527353) of the little day flying Conifer Swift Moth (Korscheltellus gracilis), IDed by Jim Edsall, made me look into how the color is produced.
