Anything=E2=80=99s possible. Or is it? =20

Subject: Re: [NatureNS] Which owl?

Hi, Jane,=20

I heard what I thought had to be a loon early this morning. It seemed to =
be travelling, one round of calls close and a second more distant. But =
no crows.

I went back to sleep and would not have remembered it if you hadn't sent =
out your email below.

Since I am a few blocks from you, it could have been the same bird.

Is there any chance you had a loon fly over and the crow fuss was =
coincidental, about something else?

Nancy

A mated pair of Barred Owls have a communication between themselves =
that is raucous and close to "insane". This is nothing like the =
"Who-who-who-who, who cooks for you all?" which is downright normal in =
comparison. Also, young owls have some very harsh food-begging calls.=20

It would be "amazing" to find a Boreal Owl in Dartmouth in summer, =
probably roughly zero probability. But then, birds do what they will. =

Some of the Barred Owl calls having a hooting quality to them. They
are very open to urban areas as well. It might be one of these.
