As usual, I think you are likely right after looking at some of the
pictures of C. mollissima. This species accounts for teh weird tufts
and hairs on the legs. And, as you say, the sacrificial pose may be
strange but OK.

But I still wonder about that sickle-like thing underneath (it does
not look like a moth leg but maybe it is) and general dampness on the
moth. But I might be overinterpreting normality. Hope so, for the
moths sake.
