The plant is Golden Heather (*Hudsonia ericoides*), and I found a number of plants growing on a disturbed rock face at Polly's Cove, HRM, one of the few localities for this species in NS, according to the Flora of NS. Martine remembers seeing it there before. Always nice to find a life plant, especially in my favourite NS habitat, the coastal barrens. Here are two photos I took: http://flic.kr/p/eSi8bs http://flic.kr/p/eSicz5 Last week I spotted a tiny moth inside the glass door leading to our screened-in balcony, and I managed a useable photo. Jim Edsall had this to say: "The small orange and dark moth looks like *Pyrausta orphisalis* =96 Orange Mint Moth. This is not listed from NS in the Maritime Ecozone book but I notice one report (from northern Cape Breton) on the Moth Photographers Group <http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/>, and it is reported from NB and Maine. Our =93micro moths=94 are still not known very well. " I have placed a photo of the moth here: http://flic.kr/p/eShXtq A naturalist needs to look up, down, and sideways it seems, with a camera close to hand.
