I really enjoyed the walk around the marsh and I = learned a lot. Now I know what a Hawthorn bush looks like, how to = identify the various maple trees as well as the differences in the three = cherry trees. It was a very informative trip for me and I will have to = make a special effort to come back to Miners Marsh in the fall when the = leaves turn and the ducks arrive. Thanks also to Richard for taking me = over to see the bald eagle nest in New Minas =E2=80=93 that was a real = treat! I did not have such good views of eagles in Alaska when I was = there a couple of years ago. Other than the eagle nest, the photo opportunities for birds at the = marsh were limited. In any event, I did get a few which I posted to my = online gallery at: http://scranlocker.smugmug.com/Nature/Nature-2013/27401561_mz8SqW Paul Murray Dartmouth ------=_NextPart_000_0002_01CE65AD.C3FFEC80 Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <HTML><HEAD></HEAD> <BODY dir=3Dltr> <DIV dir=3Dltr> <DIV style=3D"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Calibri'; COLOR: #000000"> <DIV>June 10, 2013</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I attended the Kentville Field Trip on June 9 and I would like to = thank=20 Richard Stern, George Forsyth, Jim Wolford and the others in attendance = for the=20 warm welcome.
