Hi all
I too had my first spring Eastern Wood-Peewees today - at least 3 on a 4 =
km stretch of woods walking ~ 150 m inside the woods along the TCH 106 =
between Mt. William and Granton. Also present on the walk were 3 singing =
Canada Warblers, 1 Olive-sided Flycatcher, 1 Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, =
2 Ovenbirds, out of dozens heard, that were carrying nest material, a =
Dark-eyed Junco carrying food, a pair of Red-tailed Hawks behaving like =
a nest nearby and the usual gamut of mixed woods birds. ( 43 species)

On a barren cutover area I photographed my first butterfly for the =
spring, a Dreamy Duskywing. I had seen other whites and Sulphurs earlier =
this spring but no photos were taken. In fact, this spring for me has =
been really poor for finding butterflies.=20

I noted Sarsaparilla in bloom among other woods flowers like bunchberry, =
wild lily of the valley and dewberry.=20

cheers
Ken
