I was struggling with the ID of a bird in one of my fuzzy photos when I detected it had a crossbill, not something I was expecting. It is a White-winged Crossbill. My reason for relating this is that I photographed it at Lawrencetown beach path, last November. This is the only record I have (or have heard) of them at that location. Any other experience with Cross-bills along that coast, where they may be more predictable? Andy Stadnyk
