All: Unfortunately, easterlies had recently prevailed for more than a week, inhibiting spring arrivals of migrants, as others have noted. There may be some compensation, though, as there has been at times some easterly flow in the N. Atlantic. In the past, this has brought us vagrants like N. Lapwing, one of which is present in Maine, and others like Eur. Golden-Plover. Now there is southwesterly flow offshore from the Gulf of Mexico to NS, which in the past has brought us displaced trans-Gulf migrants. Just sayin'. Cheers, Ian Ian McLaren
