Index of Subjects Hi Darrell Much cheaper to either tape the tick(s) with "Scotch"tape to a small piece of card stock or if somewhat engorged, wrap in a piece of tissue, then put in poly-bag. Then send as regular mail in a regular letter envelope... Otherwise Canada Post charges $10 ++ Be sure to include the following info.. Where - geographic location (if tick engorged, where travelled in previous 3 days) , date collected, and (if from humans) where on body - eg head, trunk or extremities. Andrew A Hebda NSM Collections ________________________________________ From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] on behalf of darrell@abolitphotos.ca [darrell@abolitphotos.ca] Sent: April-28-13 5:08 PM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: RE: [NatureNS] re reports of "ticks" Andrew and tick senders. I never sent in the deer tick after the cost of sending those beetles but since have learned that a bubble envelope is much cheaper to send than a small box so will again consider sending insects to you. The deer ticks have made it to Cooks Lake, Cooks Brook, HRM. The deer tick was the first I have found in this area and the Natural Resourses Dept. Agreed that they have never heard of them in this area. Sincerely, Darrell Abolit
