I could see not sign of catkins, >100' up, on = P. grandidentata. Male and female flowers of all (?) Populus are borne on different = plants. The same is almost always (?) true of willow (Salix). Now = aspen poplar catkins are open and blowin' in the wind, ala Bob Dylan. = They probably opened yesterday or even earlier? Also oodles of flower-heads of coltsfoot all facing the noon Sun = like tiny sunflowers, along Skyway Drive. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville. _______________________________________________ Nature mailing list Nature@blomidonnaturalists.ca = http://blomidonnaturalists.ca/mailman/listinfo/nature_blomidonnaturalists= .ca No virus found in this message.
