Dear All, Apr 22, 2013
As you may have heard, possible developments near Highway 101 Exit
12 could threaten the Kentville Ravine so defensive measures are being
organized.
This Ravine is a park-like natural area, open to the public and is
located immediately east of the Kentville Agricultural Research Station
fields.
One component of this defense is compilation of a biodiversity list. The
vascular plant list is reasonably complete as are the lists for fleshy fungi
and birds, other vertebrates perhaps incomplete, other fungi (?), Cryptogams
about 2/3 incomplete, Myxomycetes none (?), Lichens none (?), Algae &
Diatoms none (?), arthropods about 99% incomplete and other invertebrates
none (?).
If passing through, remember to keep this park in mind, either for a
visit or to help add to the lists by vouchers (which you would retain),
digital images or confirmed ID as applicable.
Yt, Dave Webster Kentville
