Subject: [ValleyNature] all-white rock pigeon in Windsor behaving = weirdly Louis Coutinho in Windsor reported this afternoon at abourt 4 p.m.: This bird has sat in the same spot [on power-line] for over an hour = while I observed it and I understand from neighbours that it just stayed = around nearby at their homes for the whole day. It looks to me like an = albino rock dove but its beak is a little smaller than most rock doves. = Does this look like any other bird to you other than an albino rock = dove? Your thoughts? Louis [Louis sent me several photos of this white pigeon, and I could not = see whether there were any leg bands. Can anyone recall where to report = rock pigeons that are both coloured unusually and behaving weirdly? -- = quite possibly some pigeon-fancier's private pigeon? I can send the = photos to anyone who requests them off-list. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville. _______________________________________________ Nature mailing list Nature@blomidonnaturalists.ca = http://blomidonnaturalists.ca/mailman/listinfo/nature_blomidonnaturalists= .ca ------=_NextPart_000_0023_01CE3AE4.90CE3270 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.6000.17128" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY=20 style=3D"WORD-WRAP: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; = -webkit-line-break: after-white-space"=20 bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>It sounds to me like a bird that is = dying - don't=20 we <FONT face=3D"Times New Roman" size=3D3>occasionally see a bird like=20 this ? &n= bsp; &nb= sp; &nbs= p;  = ; =20 Roland<STRONG>  = ; = &= nbsp; &n= bsp; </STRONG></FONT></FONT></DIV> <DIV> <A title=3Dnaturens@chebucto.ns.ca=20 href=3D"mailto:naturens@chebucto.ns.ca">NatureNS</A> </DIV> <BLOCKQUOTE=20 style=3D"PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 5px; MARGIN-LEFT: 5px; = BORDER-LEFT: #000000 2px solid; MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px"> <DIV style=3D"FONT: 10pt arial"><B>Sent:</B> Monday, April 15, 2013 = 11:25=20 PM</DIV> <DIV style=3D"FONT: 10pt arial"><B>Subject:</B> [NatureNS] all-white = rock pigeon=20 in Windsor behaving weirdly</DIV> <DIV><BR></DIV> <DIV> <DIV>I have to add that, when I talked with Louis tonight well after = dark at=20 about 10:15 p.m., Louis said the bird was still sitting on the power = line=20 where he photographed the bird back before 4 p.m. Jim.</DIV> <DIV><BR></DIV> <BLOCKQUOTE type=3D"cite"> <DIV style=3D"MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style=3D"FONT: 12px Helvetica; = COLOR: #000000"=20 face=3DHelvetica color=3D#000000 size=3D3><B>Subject: = </B></FONT><FONT=20 style=3D"FONT: 12px Helvetica" face=3DHelvetica = size=3D3><B>[ValleyNature]=20 all-white rock pigeon in Windsor behaving weirdly</B></FONT></DIV> <DIV style=3D"MIN-HEIGHT: 14px; MARGIN: 0px"><BR></DIV>Louis = Coutinho in=20 Windsor reported this afternoon at abourt 4 p.m.: <DIV><BR></DIV> <DIV> <DIV style=3D"MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style=3D"FONT: 49px Helvetica" = face=3DHelvetica=20 size=3D7>This bird has sat in the same spot [on power-line] for over = an hour=20 while I observed it and I understand from neighbours that it just = stayed=20 around nearby at their homes for the whole day.
