Hi all, At one point Thursday morning, 3 cardinals could be heard countersinging in the north end of the park, which is a new record, for me, at least. Today others saw a Pileated Woodpecker, first near the Tower Road entrance where it worked a tree for a while ("a little in but before the split-offs on your left is a half tree with huge gouges in it"), and then in the dense woods at the northeast corner of the park. More ordinary, but nice to hear, were both an Osprey (just passing through) and Merlins (making the usual racket here and there). Cheers, Andy Horn Halifax
