Finally, around noontime today, I was able to get out to Lawrencetown to see if I could see the Crested Caracara. Alas, I was a half hour too late as it was seen by a lady who was just leaving. It was seen on the same side and near to the tea house & flew down to where the deer carcass is. Very windy today. Did walk up the grassy path past the tea house but saw nothing in the trees and walked down to the other parking lot across from where the deer carcass is. Perhaps will try early tomorrow morning if the weather isn't too bad. Stocked my feeders getting ready for maybe some interesting migrants! The 1st Grackle of Spring 2013 (for me) was seen at my feeders this afternoon. Only one and sounding like a rusty door hinge, as usual! Gayle MacLean Dartmouth
