First grackles I have seen this year on the Wyman Road were a calling pair
that flew overhead yesterday.

Things are not especially early, this year!

Subject: [ValleyNature] grackles, crocuses, honeybees -- Wolfville.

MARCH 30, 2013 - Sunny and relatively warm again. A few days ago someone
told me that crocuses were in bloom in a nearby garden, which we walked by
today -- surely enough, we saw lots of crocuses in two different gardens,
and at least a few honeybees attending them.

Jake MacDonald called to report his first two grackles of the Spring had
arrived, at his feeders on lower Maple Ave. in east Wolfville.

Also flower-buds were very swollen on both silver maple and red maple along
the Wolfville streets, and they should be opening up soon.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
