Spotted my first Whirlygig beetle of the season along Sackville River in Be=
dford=2C Mar16=2C 2013. Saw just one=2C it was on the flooded side of the h=
iking trail=2C river on the other side=2C managed to take the following blu=

This is the earliest I've seen one by a couple weeks (Mar30th was my previo=
us record)=2C lots of snow and ice still around. Maybe the flooded river ha=
d something to do with it=2C could have disturbed the beetle's hibernation?
