All: It may be worth noting that there is (and apparently has been for a couple of months or more) an (Old-World) Gray Heron in s.e. of Newfoundland. You can see read about it on Bruce Mactavish's blog, to wit: http://brucemactavish1.blogspot.ca/ I don't know of any reports of wintering Gt. Blue here but, given our earlier Lapwings and a possible, but never pinned down, Common Snipe in Cape Breton, it may be worth looking closely at any residual herns before we're swamped with arriving Great Blues.
