On Monday, March 4, the *Moon *will go into it Last-quarter Phase, meaning it will rise and midnight and set at noon to leave us with dark evenings. The *Big Dipper* glitters high in the northeast these evenings, standing on its handle. You probably know that the two stars forming the front of the Dipper's bowl (currently on top) are the Pointers; they *p*oint to *Polaris= *, currently to their left. And, you may know that if you follow the curve of the Dipper's handle out and around by a little more than a Dipper length, you'll *arc* to *Arcturus*, now rising in the east. Draw a line diagonally across the Dipper's bowl from where the handle is attached, continue far on, and you'll *g*o to *Gemini*. *Daylight-saving time* begins at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, March 10. Clocks spring ahead an hour. We=92ll get that hour returned to us in the Fall! On Saturday, March 2, the *Sun *rose at 6:55 a.m. and will set at 6:06 p.m. giving 11 hours11 minutes of daylight hours. On Saturday, March 9, the sun will rise at 6:42 a.m. and set at 6:12 p.m. to give 11 hours 34 minutes of daylight hours (these values are for Moncton, New Brunswick). *This Week's Planet Roundup* *Mercury*, *Venus*, and *Mars* are hidden in the glare of the Sun. *Jupiter* (bright at magnitude =962.3) comes into view high in the south-southwest after sunset and dominates the southwest to west later in the evening. Left of Jupiter is orange *Aldebaran*. They set in the west-northwest around 1 a.m. *Saturn* (magnitude +0.4) rises in the east-southeast around 11 p.m. Watch for it to come up well to the lower left of Spica and farther to the lower right of brighter *Arcturus*. Saturn shines highest in the south before the first light of dawn =97 more or less between Spica to its right and Antares farther to its lower left.
