Ebird allows you to add sub-species information such as the Northern
Flicker (Yellow-shafted, Red-shafted). Red-shafted occur very rarely in the
east, but people do see them. Either Northern Flicker or Northern Flicker
(yellow-shafted) works, so its up to you. Also, may I suggest that if you
can, put the actual number of birds you saw instead of an "x". With numbers
are more helpful for organizations that access ebird data, or Cornell if
they want to analyse bird trends.
