Herald photographer TIM KROCHAK doesn't get enough credit. He has done it again with a great photo on page A6 of the Valley edition. "Near Curry's Corner" perhaps doesn't mean much to readers -- I presume this was in Windsor, near the jct. of hwys. 101 and 14?? Anyway, shown is a large flock in the air, and my quick guess is about 7-800 birds?? Starlings are famous for their dawn and dusk flying social gatherings as they either leave or approach their nightly roosting locales. In Europe and perhaps further south in North America these flocks can number in the tens of thousands and upward. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
