Index of Subjects This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_004E_01CE0D01.B6C58750 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable This is a nice app, I have been using birdlog for all of my eBird = submissions for about a month now.=20 I create off line checklists and upload them to eBird via Wi-Fi when I = get home or at the next Tim's stop. One thing that I have noticed makes me wonder if there may be a way to = unintentionally incur data charges. I have a data block on my phone and = therefore can't be sure. When you click "create offline checklist" the internal GPS comes on and = the app displays your approximate Lat/Lon. However if I do this while = the Wi-Fi is connected the app accesses google earth to refine the = location and bring up a civic address. Does this mean it will do the = same if there is a data connection? If this does create a problem then choosing from the recent locations = would get around it. You could also start the list beforehand however = after uploading you may have to open the checklist in eBird and correct = the time as it seams to revert back to the time that was set when the = checklist was created. A better solution is to use the previously = created list to generate a record in the recent locations and start a = new list when you get to your destination. The first list can then be = deleted if you so wish.=20 Kevin=20 From: Nancy Dowd=20 Sent: Friday, February 15, 2013 07:04 To: naturens=20 Subject: [NatureNS] birdlog app on sale Here is an app on sale now that some people may be interested in, = especially if they send data to ebird: http://www.birdseyebirding.com/index.php/2012-09-27-00-35-10/birdlog-nort= h-america Nancy ------=_NextPart_000_004E_01CE0D01.B6C58750 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <HTML><HEAD></HEAD> <BODY dir=3Dltr> <DIV dir=3Dltr> <DIV style=3D"FONT-FAMILY: 'Calibri'; COLOR: #000000; FONT-SIZE: 12pt"> <P style=3D"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class=3DMsoNormal>This is a nice app, I = have been=20 using birdlog for all of my eBird submissions for about a month now. = </P> <P style=3D"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class=3DMsoNormal>I create off line = checklists and=20 upload them to eBird via Wi-Fi when I get home or at the next Tim's = stop.</P> <P style=3D"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class=3DMsoNormal>One thing that I have = noticed=20 makes me wonder if there may be a way to unintentionally incur data = charges.
