These following questions was sent to me by a friend of my sisters, where a Barred Owl has been seen in her neighborhood for the last few days.

1. How common is it for a Barred Owl to live safely in a city for a period of time? We know there is certainly no shortage of pigeons, rats, or small rodents for one to survive.

2. Are there any records (recent or otherwise) of Barred Owls nesting and raising young here in Dartmouth? I believe, that, certainly, there are small hawks that do so successfully - so why not a Barred Owl?

Many thanks for your thoughts.
