Hi Paul,

Great pictures, as usual!! FYI, the Bedford Park is called DeWolfe =
Park. If you'd like to try getting some pictures of the less common =
Barrow's Goldeneye, you need to move further up into Bedford Bay. Best =
access points appear to be from Lion's Park or the Bedford Yacht Club on =
Shore Rd. On the Sewer Stroll, we saw 3 males and 2 females. Also at =
DeWolfe Park, at the sewage treatment plant outflow, there were both =
Iceland (lots) and one Glaucous Gull. On Moirs Pond, beside Sobey's, =
along with the 3 Hooded Mergansers (2 F + 1 M), were at least 6 species =
of gulls among the largest number of gulls I've ever seen there. Least =
common was the Lesser Black-backed Gull, previously reported by Joshua =
Barss Donham, in the middle of the group. I was able to obtain a few =
"doc" shots. Good luck!

Bob McDonald

Subject: [NatureNS] Common Golden Eye and Mergansers

Saw a group of 6-8 Common Goldeneye's and a nearby group of 6-8 Red =
Breasted Mergansers near shore of Dewold park in Bedford, a few days =
prior saw a Red Throated loon in the same area. Last year spotted =
Goldeneyes and Mergansers in the winter too, guess they like the area.
