Index of Subjects Hi Everyone; The Sewer Stroll yesterday was a huge success. More than 30 people started out from McCormacks Beach and more joined us as the day went on. We tallied 63 species for the day including some great rarities: The ROSS' GOOSE at Hartlen Point. Gadwall, Eurasian Wigeon and Northern Pintail at Sullivans (We couldn't pick out the Mew Gull despite our best efforts!) TUFTED DUCK in the Cove across from Tim Hortons in Eastern Passage (Main Road) - this bird was discovered by Clarence Stevens, Jr. - thanks Clarence! DOVEKIE - in several locations Common Murre Razorbill Northern Mockingbird on McCormacks Lane - shown to us by Dave Currie - Thanks, Dave! Baltimore Oriole at Judy O'Brien's feeder on Silvers Rd. - thanks, Judy! Another Oriole, Yellow-br. Chat, Pine Warblers, Common Redpolls and one Hoary Redpoll at Lois Codlings feeder on Old Sackville Road - thanks, Lois. And to top off the day, we saw 5 Barrows Goldeneye swimming closeby in Bedford Basin from the Lions Playground. Everyone who was left (it was almost dark so we were down to 5 people) got great looks at the kidney-shaped facial markings, the telltale wing markings and the bright orange bill on the two females. There were some jokes about me not ever calling an end to the day - did I want to try some owling in Pt. Pleasant Park? But I finally called an official halt at Waterfront Drive at about 5:00 pm. Thanks to everyone who joined us on this great outing! Suzanne Borkowski
