After Church today we stopped to check the birds in the cove by the Bedford Sobey's. There were lots of gulls - about 80, amongst which were a Glaucous, and an Iceland, and as well a pair of Hooded Mergansers (the first we've ever seen there), and a female Comm. Goldeneye. While we were checking out the gulls, suddenly they all took to the air and departed in a hurry, so we looked up. Sure enough a Bald Eagle came sailing over the empty water - only the Hoodies had remained behind. Lois Codling
