Hi all, Conrad Beach didn't produce any headline rarities, but some nice finds included: - a juvenile Peregrine Falcon hassling a Black-headed Gull at length (but unsuccessfully) about 30 metres from us along Conrad Road - 4 Purple Sandpipers at the tip of the rocks at the east end of the beach - 110 Black-capped Chickadees and 25 Golden-crowned Kinglets, which I reckon is pretty darn good for such a blustery day - a decent showing of winter songbirds that evade us in some years, including 9 Yellow-rumped Warblers, 9 American Tree Sparrows, 1 Lapland Longspur, 6 White-winged Crossbills, a Pine Siskin, and 12 Common Redpolls - a Great Blue Heron was seen during count week (Dec 14) in the marsh on the west side of the Conrad Beach area Cheers, Andy Horn Halifax Participants: Gillian and Jim Elliott, Cindy Staicer, Susan Heaslip, Andy Horn
