A nice sunny day for birding but there was a dearth of small birds around. I did find a juvenile male Northern Pintail with the Mallards at Black Rock in Point Pleasant Park. At Bissett Lake there were two male Redheads and at Dorothea Dr. there was a female Northern Cardinal. There were no birds behind the funeral home. There was a Northern Harrier on Devils Island (Hartlen Pt) At Rainbow Haven there were about 30 Green-winged Teal and 13 Bufflehead. There was at least one male Eurasian Wigeon in a flock of 200 American Wigeon at West Lawrencetown Marsh. Also, there was a flock of about 45 Hooded Mergansers there. The Great Egret was at the back of the large pond in Grand Desert. Don Don MacNeill donmacneill@bellaliant.net
