I have a series of 5 photos that will be of interest to some folks, more diagnostic than anything else. All were taken right at East Point, aka The Guzzle, North Grand Pre between Nov 16th & Dec 1st. On Nov 15 Bernard Forsythe & I spotted one bird that we agreed must be Ipswich. The next day I went back & found 2 birds keeping very close company & photographed both. One is shown in the first photo at direct link. Then on Nov 30th I found one bird feeding within a few inches of a very dark, regular Savannah Sparrow. These are the 3 photos I really like because of the close comparison. On Dec 1st I photographed what must have been the same bird in the identical location. Both of the Nov 16 birds & the Nov 30 bird were all kindly confirmed by Ian McLaren. BTW, if I can use wariness as a clue, the Nov 30/ Dec 1 bird could not possibly be one of the Nov 15/16 birds. The respective trust levels were worlds apart ! http://tinyurl.com/b5frsqd There are 6 other recent photos also. Rick Whitman
