Lunenburg Co. or = E. Queen's Co. I saw the Lapwing in the far end of the marsh behind the beach about = 3pm. Alas, as I was studying it in the scope an adjacent Herring Gull = put it up and pursued it across the flats, the inlet and the W. side of = Great Island, over the trees and towards Vogler's Cove. I was able to = follow it in the scope until it disappeared with a sense of = disappointment that it was not able to linger. The timing seems about = right for it to be the same bird. Other shorebirds close by were 2 Black-bellied Plover, 1 Sanderling, 5 = Dunlin. The 2 Ruddy Turnstone, 8 White-rumps, and 3 Red Knot seen about = a week ago seem to have moved on. Sylvia Fullerton Broad Cove, Lun. Co. ------=_NextPart_000_003E_01CDCFEB.8A50D5B0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META name=3DGENERATOR content=3D"MSHTML 8.00.6001.19328"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial>This may be the same Lapwing = reported by James=20 Hirtle and Dorothy Poole at Hirtle's Beach about 1:30 today, which took = off=20 westward, and as Eric Mills surmised is probably "waiting to be = found" in=20 W.
