Those for whom the winter birding season (as described by Blake in his recent post) presents too many challenges, may be interested to know that 30 November, Saint Andrew's Day, is the opening day of the Great Haggis Hunt http://haggishunt.scotsman.com/ This is your chance to spot both Common and Golden Haggis as they migrate, via strategically-situated webcams in some of the most beautiful parts of the British Isles. The hunt ends on Burns' Night, 25 January, although there is a peak of activity around Christmastime. There are also prizes for folks who report the most haggis sightings: visits to luxury golfing resorts, highland titles, bottles of whiskey ... Cheers, Patricia L; Chalmers Halifax
