Hi all
A group of 4 ( Judy O'Brien, Alan Covert, Gisele d'Entremont and myself =
) birded Canso area today (Nov 16) with the main goal to see the =
Northern Lapwing. We arrived shortly after 10:00 and quickly found the =
Lapwing with the Canada Geese flock in the field back of the ball =
diamond and viewed from the elevated area near the rink. We went to this =
spot 3 times through the day and it was in this location each time =
although others saw it closer the elevated area. It did fly briefly a =
few times, but stayed in the same general area.=20
At Tom Kavanaugh's feeder we saw Indigo Bunting, Dickcissel (3), =
Clay-coloured Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow and Am. Tree Sparrow. =
Across the road from Tom's we noted the Baltimore Oriole.=20
At O'Leary's on Sterling St. we saw a House Wren and a bright Pine =
Warbler.=20
At Glasgow head we had a flock of 50 Common Redpoll. Evening Grosbeaks =
were wide-spread, but only 3 Pine Grosbeaks near the ballfield. We =
looked through a number of Myrtle Warblers (20+) but were not able to =
locate the Audubon's.=20
The Great Egret was seen in the Chapel Gully area although it was seen =
by others earlier in the day at Glasgow Head.=20
We did not find Grasshopper Sparrow, Common Gallinule or the Cattle =
Egret although we did see a Great Blue Heron at Black Duck Cove Park.
An Orange Sulphur was seen but not documented. =20

cheers
Ken
