Harbour: https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=202252740826864612170.0004ce4b8b9777a90ce5d&msa=0&ll=45.629825,-61.96701&spn=0.050837,0.129604 This duck is routine is small numbers in the fall, until freeze up, here. And by small numbers, I mean ones and twos...I think three have occurred once. Shortly thereafter, I saw a large bird coming over the tree tops, but popping in and out of view because of the different heights of the trees...I thought it was going to turn out to be a Raven or a Red-tail, but when it came into full view, it definitely had the the pointy wings of a falcon and I immediately thought "Gyr". It was a heavy bird so I don't really think it was a peregrine, and in the few seconds I saw it in the open, I didn't notice the characteristic facial marks of a peregrine. I'm not 100% on Gyr, but that's what I felt it was. It was flying south, and could easily be in Queens County by now.
