In the latest edition of The Guardian Weekly (02.11.12) there is an article about efforts to contain the Ash Dieback Fungus (Chalara fraxinea) in the UK. A web search this morning turned up no records of it yet in North America. Does anyone know it this disease has crossed the Atlantic? It spreads via microscopic wind-dispersed spores and will be devastating if/when it reaches our shores.
