The dolphins are trained by feeding and I noted that the fish being used were Capelins * ( Mallotus villosus ) * so I asked the trainer about it. He confirmed the fish were Capelin and told me they originated in eastern Canada. Although I have not researched it, I assume that Silversides would be used for the same purpose (i.e. caught to feed captive dolphins and other piscivorours species kept in captivity in zoos and aquaria). I have no idea of the size of the fishery.
