When I posted on the GHOW on Oct 26th, I thought it had left the dyke. However, I re-found it on my next 2 visits on the 28th & 31st. I do believe it's gone now as I haven't seen it yesterday or today. By the 31st it seemed quite tolerant of me & I got some pretty amazing photos. It did not flush during or after this photo session. (It did flush earlier because I didn't see it. It only flew about 10-20 feet). The bird can be seen to be wet (Sandy-related rain) but it certainly wasn't starving. Check out the pellet that I photographed yesterday from the exact location on the 31st. A good sized bird was eaten. There are also some Wilson's Snipe photos from Miner's Marsh that I like. The last one has 7 snipe in one photo. Can you see them ? http://tinyurl.com/axtw8bj Rick Whitman
