Hi all:
=20
A trip to Port Joli=2C Cape Sable Island=2C Bacarro and Blanche today produ=
ced 60 species of birds. Of note at Port Joli - At least 2100 plus Canada=
Geese. Sable River produced a pileated woodpecker. Near Port Clyde along=
the 103 was a turkey vulture. At Cape Sable Island - Thanks to Johnny Nic=
kerson for showing me two Hudsonian Godwits. This is a species that I did =
not expect to see this year any longer. At Daniels Head a nice treat were =
two red-throated loons=2C a Nelson's Sparrow=2C and a peregrine falcon. Ba=
carro produced a white-crowned sparrow. At Blanche it was pleasing to see =
an Eastern Phoebe and a buff-breasted sandpiper. Only yellow-rumped warble=
rs and some blackpoll warbers could be found at the places visited. I'll s=
end a more detailed listing through ebird tomorrow of everything observed. =
The last will likely create some opposition to the sighting as it is very =
early=2C but two gulls at Bacarro=2C that made a flyby very close to shore=
=2C had no black on the wings nor on the tail=2C which suggests them as bei=
ng two Iceland gulls. On the basis of no black on the wings nor on the tai=
l=2C I cannot think of what else they could have been. =20
