Had a lovely walk yesterday evening along the Saulnier Trail in the Akin
Marsh area being managed by Ducks Unlimited. First time I've been out there
for a while. The Marsh is on the Bog Rd. Hants County, between Falmouth
and Hantsport.

Big shout out to Hants West Wildlife people who have done a lot of work
clearing, marking, and installing numerous nesting boxes along the short 3K
wetland/woodland trail.

Mr Burns flushed what I believe was a Grey Squirrel under a medium sized
Oak in the parking lot - didn't get a definitive look as it scampered up a
tree into the canopy but it was significantly larger and darker than a Red
Squirrel. I could hear him chirping me and his vocalizations were much
lower in range than an RS.

Many fungi of various size, shape etc along the trail.

And has anyone told the skitters it's October? They were some t'ick and
tough!
