hi folks,

Of note, on a quick jaunt to the DU pond and the stretch of the Cornwallis
River on the east side of Middle Dyke road (the secondary highway between
Belcher St. and Hwy 1; Kentville/New Minas):

1 *Pied-billed Grebe*
21 *Green-winged Teal*
4 *Lesser Yellowlegs* (based on size and voice)
1 *Mallard*
2 *American Black Ducks*
1 *Bald Eagle* (adult)
1 *Red-tailed Hawk* (juvenile)
1 *Northern Harrier* (juvenile)
and the *anonymous Domestic Goose* (Gralyag-esque) that sometimes appears
at Miner's Marsh. This was on the stretch of the Cornwallis east of the DU
pond. This goose has been in this area (pond or River here) the last three
times I've visited in the past 2 months.

Yesterday around 3:00 pm, 3 *Evening Grosbeaks* flew over our house (28
Forest Hill Rd; Kentville) giving flight calls.

cheers,
James.
