Does anyone have any suggestions as to how one can keep
raccoons away from grapes? My Dad has Concords growing around the
eaves of the house in Bedford, and the last two years the raccoons
have really taken their toll of them. He has always taken pride in
supplying the church with some handsome clusters for decoration at
Harvest Thanksgiving, but at the rate they are disappearing (even
though they aren't yet quite ripe) there may not be any this year.

A Baltimore Oriole flew up into our grape vines shrouding the back
deck trellis. Birds are impossible to see once in the trellis due to
the thick foliage, all as planned for our summertime dining
enjoyment. Shucks, we can't even see the raccoons when they are up
there tearing the place apart looking for grapes.
