The Island=0Ais just high enough the wate= r only goes over it when its high. As it sort of=0Ais in the run between tw= o lakes the ice cakes keep the vegetation under control=0Aand obviously pro= vides excellent habitat for Meadow- beauty.=A0=0AVery lovely =A0- I cann't = remember any other spot so cover with them.=0AAn old pine tree nearby had r= ecently been struck by lightning. Anyone=0Awishing to know why not to stand= under a big tree in a T&L storm need=0Alook no further. It had taken a 2X1= 0 out of the side - but it hadn't planed=0Ait - just threw it against a map= le tree a few meters away.=0AMeadow-beauty were on Lunch Island also. Not a= s many but I've=0Aseen them there before. They grow there just at the top o= f the grass in=0Athe gravel at the base of the bank.=0AWe also saw some Bla= dderwort - some Horned on the shore and a few=0ASwollen out in about 30 cms= of water.
