This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0032_01CD767D.7235F220 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Dave Currie and I spent the day atlassing butterflies in the Debert = area.=20 The highlights were many American Coppers, Branded Skippers and a Grey = Comma, my first confirmed for Nova Scotia.=20 The big find, for me, however was a colony of Aphrodite Fritillaries, = probably 12 to 15 individuals, in a small damp meadow on the East Folly = Mountain Rd.. They were in remarkaly fresh condition as if they had = recently hatched unlike the Atlantis and Great Spangled which were well = worn and tattered. I have only seen half a dozen individuals of this = species in the maritimes in my entire lifetime so this was a memorable = occasion and I was able to photograph many individuals. I didn't realize = this species could be so localized and colonial. I just assumed they = were rare and showed up periodically as singles among the more common = species.
