About an hour ago I made the following post on the NSRBA: Cattle Egret One N of Hortonville in pasture field imm. adj. to main dyke. Field has dairy cattle in it right now. CE has been in fld for 30 min now. 8:55 AM. =========================== Not too bad for an iPhone, I hope. The bird was still there when I left about 9:10. This location is accessible from the road that runs along the main N/S dyke from Hortonville to East Point. The road is currently opened but could be closed with a cable just S of East Point. When I left the bird was in the NW corner of the field while the DAIRY cattle were all in the E end. When I first saw the bird it was so close to one cow that it was making it nervous. The bird took flight 3 times & re-settled in same field each time. I don't know why it flew, maybe restless. I emphasize DAIRY i.e. Holstein heifers because if you come from Hortonville you will see beef cattle on left first. That is NOT the field. This field is imm. past a deep gully & only has dairy cattle in it. If you meet any farm equipment you do NOT have the right of way. Back up & get off the road. Don't block the road. You can park safely at extreme S end of dyke & walk maybe 0.5 km to location. Rick Whitman
