But, while we are at tall tales, = can black bears really take up residence under a camp? A number of years ago I move to a new community at this time of the year. Didn't know any of the neighbours and as I was busy at work hadn't a lot of time for social things. One day that fall, a neighbour an elderly fellow with lots of = relations killed a bear. It had taken up residence under his camp and broke in=20 whenever it felt like it. The fellow told me he was nervous to stay = there so killed the bear although he preferred if he didn't have to. They had dressed the bear nicely and it was on a trailer before = cutting up the meat and a crowd had gathered to look at it so I joined them. After a bit I said to the fellow "Did you weigh it?" "Oh yes" he said "It weighs 325 lbs" I pretended I didn't hear good so said "Did you say 225 lbs?" "No No " he said "325"! Years went by and the community especially him and his family were = always very nice and if we needed help they were always right there. About 25 years latter I was at the mail box one day and the fellow was = also there. He said "My health is not good and my time may be short on this earth. = So in order not to have to explain to St Peter why I lied to you I have a = confession to make!" It kind of took me back - nothing I knew of needed a confession so I = just said "What" He said "Remember the bear ? " Yes I did "well when you said 225 lbs I had lied - I hadn't weighed the bear" "So that evening I took it to a scale - it weighed 223 lbs" "Now " he said " I can go in peace!" So the bear and the cabin made things very pleasant for me for a long = time! Have a nice summer Paul ------=_NextPart_000_0081_01CD740C.08685FE0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META name=3DGENERATOR content=3D"MSHTML 8.00.6001.19154"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT size=3D4>Paul,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D4> now that's a great cabin/bear story! = But, while=20 we are at tall tales, can black bears really take up residence = under a=20 camp?
