The young feed on larval scarab beetles (oftern June beetles). The long abdomen assists the female in putting an egg in ground dwelling June beetle larvae. There is only one species in North America and virtually all individuals are female. This is one of the few insects that has its own website: http://hymfiles.biosci.ohio-state.edu/projects/tpp/ DBMcC On Thu, Aug 2, 2012 at 9:28 PM, Lynne Perry <perry.lynne@hotmail.com> wrote= : > Can you help us with info about this so called dragon fly about three > inches across? > > > From: Krista.Peterson@nscc.ca > > To: perry.lynne@hotmail.com > > Subject: IMG01125-20120802-1935.jpg > > Date: Fri, 3 Aug 2012 00:53:04 +0000 > > > > > > Sent wirelessly from my BlackBerry device on the Bell network. > > Envoy=E9 sans fil par mon terminal mobile BlackBerry sur le r=E9seau de= Bell. > > ________________________________ > > > > This communication (including any attachments) may contain privileged o= r > confidential information of Nova Scotia Community College and is intended > for a specific individual.
