Hi All=0AWednesday evening we visited a favorite spot,=A0=0Aand saw a nice =
flock of Wax Wings. We got there about 8 pm=0Aand the weather was nice - cl=
ear with a little NW wind - not hard.=0ADifferent bridge on a different riv=
er but the birds were feeding on flies just like before.=0APerhaps 20 - 30 =
but hard to count. The river is a very good spot for Caddis=0Aflies and a h=
atch was coming off. A lot of midges also but no black flies or mosquitos.=
=0AThe Wax wings were perching on the railing of the bridge and would dart =
out and=A0=0Agrab a fly when they appeared, they accepted us easily and oft=
en perched about 1 m =A0while=0Awaiting for a lunch. Pretty birds so close.=
 The young one have short tails yet.=0ASeem to have been feeding on blueber=
ries early as their droppings were painting the railing blue.=0AAlso with t=
hem was 8 - 10 Yellow Rumped Warblers. But they sat on the bridge deck and=
=A0=0Ajumped out when lunch flew by. They are in various molted plumages - =
not many looked the same=0AThey accepted us also and came close.=0AWhile al=
l this was happening a Sharp Shinned Hawk flew by in a hurry to get somewhe=
re.=0AThe birds ignored it and went on feeding on the Caddis flies.=0AUp ab=
ove about the level of the trees Chimney Swifts were flying around also fee=
ding on=0Ainsects. Hard to tell how many most I saw at once was 4 but they =
were making big circles=0Aso there was a lot more. Impossible to tell what =
they were feeding on but they didn't seem interested=0A=A0to feed close to =
the water. They can really move!=0AOn the water was a brood of 9 Black Duck=
s not yet able to fly but they were standing on the rocks=0Aflapping their =
wings wouldn't be long.=0AWe often complain about insects but the birds wer=
en't complaining.=0AMaybe the Caddis were complaining about the birds - LOL=
=0AA great show until about 9:10 when everybody went to bed.=0AEnjoy the su=
