Hi all
Saw my first returning Solitary Sandpiper in a small roadside pond in =
Glengarry Pictou Co. while looking for butterflies this afternoon (July =
10). Butterflies: White Admiral, Viceroy. Northern Crescent, Azure sp., =
Long Dash, Duns and European Skippers ( lots of the latter), Atlantis =
Fritillary, Eyed Brown, Common Wood Nymph ( first of the year)and a Can. =
Tiger Swallowtail. The wind kept the butterfly observations down. A =
white and a sulphur escaped documentation.

On Sunday ( July 8) there were about a dozen Monarchs flying around the =
milkweed near the pioneer trail in New Glasgow.=20
Butterflies seen in the Eden L- East River St Mary's area not seen on =
today's list include Painted and American lady, Red Admiral, Pecks, =
Least and Arctic Skipper, Harris Checkerspot, Common Ringlet, =
Questionmark, Pink-edged Sulphur, Mustard White, Bog Copper and Great =
Spangled Fritillary.=20

Near where the Bog Copper was on Siding Rd. I had a young Gray Jay and a =
fem Spruce Grouse with 2 young.=20

Tonight (July 10) there were 35 Chimney Swifts at the Temperance St. =
school chimney. New recruits do not seem to be evident yet.=20
cheers
Ken
