--Apple-Mail-4--401038073 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Type: text/plain; charset=WINDOWS-1252; delsp=yes; format=flowed JUNE 27, 2012 - This morning I received this e-mail from Paul Steele =20 at 60 Kent Ave. in Wolfville concerning the status of the pileated =20 woodpecker nest there in his back yard: It=92s been an interesting couple of days. One of the babies left the =20= nest yesterday, and the last one left tonight. I was lucky to get a =20 few final shots of them. They were making a lot of noise! My =20 neighbour said it was driving them crazy. Paul has a lot of very =20 nice photos of the adult and young woodpeckers. ------------------------- This afternoon I checked on the statuses of two bald eagle nests: (a) north of Waterville -- just one very large and feathered-out =20 nestling/fledgling -- an adult eagle, presumably a parent, was =20 perched at the top of the old nest-tree, which is about 100 m. west =20 of the active nest (both nests are in pines) -- the fledgling was =20 seen to be mostly inactive, but got up to stretch and preen and =20 exercise, which consists of spreading and flapping the wings, =20 accompanied by energetic hopping up and down precariously in the nest =20= -- thus the fledging could be any day now; (b) lower Canard St. (west of Muskrat Marsh Farm) and east of =20 "Jawbone Corner" (Hwy. 358): two very large nestlings/fledglings =20 standing in/on nest, which is in a deciduous tree. And there was a =20 lot of noise from mostly unseen ravens, probably a family group, in =20 the area.= --Apple-Mail-4--401038073 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Type: text/html; charset=WINDOWS-1252
<body style=3D"word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; = -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div style=3D"margin-top: 0px; = margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><div = style=3D"margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; = margin-left: 0px; "><font face=3D"Helvetica" size=3D"3" style=3D"font: = 12.0px Helvetica">JUNE 27, 2012 - This morning I received this = e-mail from Paul Steele at 60 Kent Ave. in Wolfville concerning the = status of the pileated woodpecker nest there in his back = yard:

<div style=3D"margin-top: 0px; margin-right: = 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal = 12px/normal Helvetica; min-height: 14px; ">

<div = style=3D"margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; = margin-left: 0px; "><font face=3D"Helvetica" size=3D"4" style=3D"font: = 15.0px Helvetica">It=92s been an interesting couple of days.
